Detecting at Va. Beach

I am planning on taking a trip to Va. Beach one night to do some detecting. Probably going down around Lynhaven Pier. I was wondering if there are any restrictions in that area on metal detecting. I can't find any, but thought someone from the area would know local ordinance better than myself. Thanks in advance.

No Problems here,,, The Pier at the Oceanfront is the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier,,, The Lynnhaven Pier is on the Bay side,,, Just remember no detecting in Federal or State .
Parks,,,, The oceanfront runs from 1st street to about 40th street and this is in front of the boardwalk. Make sure you pay attention to parking and pay the meters,,, they will tag and tow quickly, See you down there,,,good luck
