detecting a soccer field with the Sovereign GT & 15" WOT coil

No great finds but you can see how this combo works , _ My method was not to go deep but to get the suface to 5" stuff so I set the sensitivity at bare minimum and used fixed all metal , to dig Iron _ 1st if I heard a null and it still nulled at a slow sweep i would switch to all metal and dig just to clean up the field, I found 15 boby pins and other nails targets are far and few between the WOT helps cover lots of ground ----- I also set my discimination to the 4th dot and it would reject very small foil , and can slaw , BUT THE COOL THING is if a coin was under it it would ring thru just fine I love the way this thing worksdetecting soccer field

I just want to let you know GunnarMN that I have been watching your vids and each one gets better than the last. Thank you for showing us your vids and displaying your great technique on target recovery. I also love your attitude while hunting. Many of our fellow hunters feel no gold no success but your showing us to get out there and explore and have fun.Thank you for being a great ambassador for our hobby and sport.HH:clapping:

GunnarMN, That's a great place to hunt. The trash is the problem, the can slaw, pins, caps are so heavy I chose to use the smaller coil. I now use a 5in Sun Ray coil along with the meter an able to pick out better sounds and numbers from the trash. My soccer field goes way back so silver come to light between targets! My icon is a soccer field find. truly by mistake! The GT was new to me and I was learning how to pinpoint. I was sure this was just another penny and to my surprise out popped this mans 14k 6 diamond ring! Soccer fields are a great place to hunt! I think you cut and slit method works well in many cases on shallow targets and is a wise choice. The plug method while once thought to be the best method has since been replaced to cutting a three sided hole to form a flap, which could also be a 3/4 moon cut. Grounds keepers have pointed this out in the past, many who detect! This allow the grass to stay attached and will not die in a few days,as the roots are connected though the flap. Unless that tiny plug get water everyday for several days it will probably die. If there is a game any time soon it will get kicked out! I think your video's are great and you have beautiful area's to hunt. May there be gold in your future. HH steve

I have learned different ways of extracting my finds from the ground thanks to you Gunnar. That is why I call you Dr. Gunnar :) Not only are your videos entertaining but informative as well. Do you like the bent shaft better then the straight? I always see you using it. Is it less strain / more comfortable then the straight shaft? Better / easier to use with a bigger coil? It must be pretty cool out as I see you have a jacket on. Last weekend I was in a t-shirt and sweating to death in the carnival field lol That is slowly changing here though. Great video and thanks for sharing. - Jim

I agree with tomtomnc: "Many of our fellow hunters feel no gold no success but your showing us to get out there and explore and have fun.Thank you for being a great ambassador for our hobby and sport.

Jim the S shaft works better with the Swingy thing , but i still get tired out , and it is getting cooler, .. And Steve, I will have to try the tryangle method , like you say those cleets on the shoes really dig in and tear out , I tell you if someone lost a ring thear is so much ground to cover they would give up , so it is as you say when you think its a tab or a zinc it may be a nice Gold ring , Gold rings are like the second return of Jesus we do not know the day or the hour but we watch for the signs, and to me you always have to be prepared to meet the lord, Or in detecting to find a gold ring , if you are finding tabs and zincs each one can be a gold ring thearfor we press on Glad you all like the vidioes, I will try to keep them coming untill the ground freezeth and the snowflakes fall and the leaves have fled from the branches of the tree, and the mosquito stops his buzzing , and the sun its hot burning , when the shovle replaces the mower and the day gets dark befor 6:00, well befor winter

You are corect that the players do far more damage then we could ever do. The method to the 3 sided flap is a 3 sided rectangle. The size is up to you. But when digging old silver at 12 plus inches its best to give yourself a big area to work with.

Gunnarmn, you are an artist. You handle that WOT coil better than I do with my Tornado 800. You can really pinpoint and are neat
