Detech Chaser Second Session

Local park, 30 minutes before lawnmower arrived. Lots of bottle caps and pull tabs, but also a nickel and a large earring marked 925, so found some silver. Used 12x10 coil, Gain low, Sensitivity at default level, Tone ID. There is no depth readout when pinpointing but circle will diminish in accordance with size or depth of the target. I haven't tried correlating diameter of circle to inches deep. Lots more to discover with this detector but after 1 hour, this machine is worth keeping. I still have 3 Garretts, 2 with 4" coils available, when I tire of the 12x10, and it seems heavy.

With a new detector I dig just about all signals as part of the learning curve. Interestingly, I dug a bottle cap and in the same hole saw a glint and it was the silver earring. With a detector that is new to the US and new to me, I'm too inexperienced with it to advise for or against the detector. From my whole 1 hour using the Chaser, my initial impression is that it will be a great purchase. I traded a Golden micro Max and an F75 SE towards the purchase and do not regret having done so.

Hang in there Frank. I sent Keith mine and we should have some good info. ( Alpha Goat)
