Detech 13" Ultimate DD coil f Whites:

Have had 3 of them for my DFX.. Nice for sports fields. Touchy with EMI, Reacts to bumping when cranked up. VID are not as accurate, depth reading is way off, swings lighter than the 9.5 or 6x10, Separates well for a large coil, gets caught on anything sticking up so no good in woods or fields with stubble, has no "coil cover" just a skid plate that snaps on allowing sand and dirt between the skid plate and bottom of coil, it is an epoxy filled coil so there is a fairly large area to pack dirt into. Larger coverage are, and not hard on the shoulders.. so if you want a big sweeper then keep the above in mind.. All depends on where you hunt...

I would not buy it again, 6x10 is a much better coil.. just wish it was lighter..

Completely agree, it is a heavy coil so is the 12 inch coil that whites makes, that coil weighs like 2 pounds alone. I use it only for the beach because i dont care about pinpointing i just want coverage and depth.

Never used the Ultimate coils but i have used other Detech coils which on the whole are pretty good,i mainly use the SEF range but only the SEF8x6 coil on a Whites machine, but do use the larger 12x10 and 15x12 on the T2,you think the 13'' Ultimate coil is heavy i use the big 18'' Detech coil on my DFX and that is what you call a heavy old beast of a coil. Can only use it with a harness but when running in 3Khz on the DFX it not only gives you very good ground coverage but also pretty deep on clear pasture sites on which i mainly hunt.

But even the 18'' Detech coil feel light compared to my 20'' Mono coil on my TDI Pro :)

Im wondering what coil to get for my dfx for the beach, looking for the depth and discrimination my beaches have lots of iron patches in dry sand and it wreaks havoc on the 950 and 12 inch coils.
