Depth reading in all metal

I have the 6000 pro xl, when hunting in all metal how do you get a depth reading? I use to know but cannot remember offhand. I know
when you hunt in Disc you just pull the trigger to pinpoint and depthread.
 
When you squeeze the trigger and hold it, the meter will indicate the probable depth of coin size targets. Kelley (Texas) :)
