depth problem on unit

I have a Silver Sabre Plus. My everyday use unit. It has the 7 inch Concentric coil which i understand is OK for that unit. I do not have the original coil available, which is the 8 inch open hole white flat one. friend has one SOMEWHERE in storage. But the 7 inch is better in trash being concentric. checking in all metal, i have a slight hum so i believe that is right. i noticed hunting that the unit was not finding anything that was deep in a place where i know targets are 5-6 inches plus. A friend and I air tested it today with a quarter and the depth was 3 inches, NOT GOOD! batteries are good.

Should i send it in?

.. Yepper, she's a sick puppy allright, if it don't get at least the diameter of the coil or 7" on a coin on an aitest, somthing is wrong. My old original Silver Sabre would airtest a zinc penny at
7" and nab a long buried coin at 6". The signal would be faint, but solid with good headphones on.

Yes, it needs work. Send it in with the coil you want to use and they will tune it to your detector.
