Depth on the Sea Hunter Mark II

What kind of depth can I expect out of this machine? I took it outside tonight and was getting whisper signals at 5 or 6 inches. Of course, i had a ring layin on top of the ground and was raising the coil up around that depth. Should it get deeper?

Air test are not good with pulse induction machines including the mark II. Just go out and use it is the best way. It is deep for sure.

Yep! Can't really air test a pulse induction unit.:wiggle: I regularly dig coins at over a foot with the Sea Hunter MKll.:detecting:Bigger pieces of junk iron(large bolts, etc) at over two feet.
It's deeper than any vlf machine. In fact, it's the deepest Garrett machine that I've ever used(aside from the two-box units, of course). Now, if you're using it in discreet trash elimination mode, to knock out pulltabs, but still get gold rings, you will lose substantial amount of depth. Maybe down to six inches. However, you will still be diggin' junk iron pretty deep. Best of luck to ya!:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)

VERY GOOD TO KNOW. I WAS GETTIN BUMMED OUT BECAUSE OF THE SHALLOW TESTING. I HAVE SOME LAKES AND RIVERS I AM GOING TO HIT HER LOCAL AND USE IT AT THE BEACH THIS SUMMER.:detecting:

Not much in an air test. You are wasting your time. The SH finds things in feet not inches. Mel Fisher located the Atocha with that detector. Remember that one, the Spanish Galleon with $450 million in gold aboard.
