hey guys...wondering if any of you tesoro users have experience with the old style metal box eldorado..i'm concerned about depth...does it compare to most umax models?thanks

And this old Inca is what Monte would call a "HOT" specimen, this one 'airtests' a dime at 9 inches with the stock 8 inch coil........not say'n that's important. But this one will go deeeeep in the ground too, and it has a depth meter built in. I also have a Bandido ll

they fall short of what we have come to expect.

I rounded up three older Tesoro's just a year ago, and one was an 'original' Eldorado with the stock coil and I had two accessory coils. Back then I sure liked the loud audio bark they had, but that was because Tesoro used bigger speakers. But I put it up against a Tesoro Bandido II

I became a Tesoro Dealer in '83 when they introduced the Inca. While I still can see it a little today, it used to be that a batch of 10 Tesoro's of the same model might have 1 or 2 that were wimps, but also 1 or 2 that were 'hot.' I selected the hottest specimen of any model I used or kept on hand and display. If I came across a better (hotter) performer, then it became mine and my unit was discounted and sold as a used demo model.

I did have 1 really good Inca, and I believe it was the 3rd one I got in. I also picked the best original Eldorado (the Inca replacement) when I found one, but most were not that exciting. Okay, but not great. The one I got last year (Eldorado) was a definite 'wimpy' performer.

Older Tesoro's didn't have the depth but on the other hand newer Tesoro's don't have the audio variances they did...Give and take aways in units old or new and lets not forget the nut behind the wheel that learns them...

thanks to all who have applied to this question...what i would really like to know is if these older tesoros can get coins at least 6"s.....thats what i'm hoping for anyway..thanks again...
