Depth of discovery

If you are asking how deep will the 70 or 705 detect, it depends on the size of the target and the coil you are using. With the stock coil, I can detect a US dime at 8 inches and a quarter at 10 inches. If you are asking how deep the target can be while giving an accurate TID, typically it is around 6 or 7 inches. Deeper than that and the visual TID can be misleading on most all VLF detectors. Especially if you are dealing with more mineralized soil conditions, adjacent targets or coins that are not flat in the ground. JMHO HH Randy
 
I have a wheat, silver dime and clad quarter (buried separately, not together) all buried in my test garden, they are at a measured 7.5 inches. I placed them on large plastic lids to prevent sinking. I can hit them loud and clear
