Depth Meter

Should I be able to lay a coin on the ground, then pass the coil over it and steadily increase the distance above the coin and contunue to recieve a signal untill the depth meter reads maximum? I lose the sig when the depth indicator is about 2/3 of the way down. Thanks Ken

That 2/3rds of the way down means you are at about 8" when the signal is lost, according to the depth meter. Depending on the coin you were checking and your settings, that sounds about right for an air test on the XS. For example, on a clad dime with my sensitivity turned way down, I was getting a reading out to 7.75", but when I maxed out the sensitivity at 32, I could read the dime at 9.25".
