Depth increase with the 17 inch Coil.

I watched a video on you tube the other day where some guys were doing depth tests on coins with the stock coil vs the 17 inch coil , from what I see it seems on your average inland site no extra depth is gained , however on dry sand the 17 inch coil will give you
2 inches at least extra depth on a coin sized target.

I have definitely gained a few inches, tested the in ground pre dig signals on silver side by side vs pro coil ctx and 2 different 13 inch ultimate e tracs with the operators being experienced, some did hit decently but we're thumpy but most were iffy to extremely iffy or not hitting at all

I would sure hope there better be a depth increase on land and beaches for a $400 coil! If not it would sure be a waste of money in my opinion since the extra ground coverage alone does not justify the expense for me.

I have a 17 inch coil for my CTX 3030, it's main use is extra coverage , I have used it once and found a few coins with it , pinpointing is not easy to say the least. I could see me trying this coil on the beach and could see a use for it on worked out sites inland that are fairly loaded with
not too much junk. I did feel it offers at least the sensitivity of the stock coil and nothing less. I found it a little heavy but for a 1 or 2 hour hunt it's fine. I feel like I am swinging a dustbin lid with this beast of a coil! a nice coil worth having but not worth skinting your self if you are a bit short of funds.
The 6 inch I have used once or twice and this coil would be a better purchase for some one contemplating buying an extra coil. The 6 inch coil would find more use I am sure over the 17.

Like has been stated I use the 17" more for coverage than depth. I do find the 17" hits cleaner on deeper targets than the 11" stock coil, but the real advantage is the added coverage.
