Depth 4800 vs 5000 GPX ?

SWMO Mark

I was wondering if there is any difference in depth between the GPX 4800 and the 5000, useing the same timeings. I was looking for primarily a detector to clean out my civil war camps. Dont think I need the extra timeings of the 5000. Thanks, Mark

If you use the same timings and other settings there is no difference. Big addition in the GPX 5000 is the Fine Gold setting but if you sure you do not need it the 4800 will do the trick.

However, if you ever plan on resale get the GPX 5000 as the money you save now on the purchase you will lose at resale. Due to the 4800 and 5000 coming out at the same time the 4800 is one of the least popular Minelabs ever. People who buy these things almost always want the best available unit. I do not think most dealers even bother stocking the GPX 4800.
