it really depends on the damage that has been done, the housing sounds like its wasted so we will assume you need a new one , if the circuit board is still OK and not broken in any way then it should be pretty straight forward , the repair cost will be less than a new machine but it sounds like an expensive repair, I am thinking its going to be in the 150.00 range due to the new part and labor , I really think you should just send it in to M.L. Las Vegas ,and pay what ever it is to get it back in the game . If you decide you don't want to deal with it then Pm me and I will pay for the shipping to take it off you hands .....good luck and take care , what a total bummer

One thing it is no good the way it is, so send it in to Minelab and let them know what happened and get a estimate what it would cost to get it repaired. They may do it very reasonable too and if it is more than you want to spend then just let them keep it for parts. This way you will know for sure if it is worth getting repaired. Minelab has been very decent on repairs for most people I hear.

yea but even at 5 hours you are still only looking at a hundred and a half, thats still much cheaper than a new unit, plus the elite is a killer machine and you really cant buy something new for that kind of money, I would bite the bullet and pay the 150/200 and just have your machine back. But as I mentioned before if you wanna give it up I would take it from you and send you some dough to boot. I am confident that the elite is worth fixing and its a formidable unit that is hard to beat........good luck

Now, why I asked was because, I sent my Excal in with some possible negligent repairs of my own. I know that everything was not "a defect", that I needed to have repaired. They could have stuck it to me, but they took care of all of it, under my warranty. If Roper is in warranty, then they may be more flexible, with regard to repairs, even though they are negligence on his part. They are very fair, in my opinion. The repair was excellent too. I had a friend who was out of warranty and very upset with the company. He recently spoke to someone there, who is going to fix up his out of warranty unit, under good will warranty. My friends, that's unbelieveable, but they are doing it. Fact of the matter is they will reap the benefits of it, because He will probably buy another new unit from the company.

Go to the Mods forum and they will tell you what you will need to do to build it. :D: :D: Later Jerry aka Tinfoil

If you only broke the housing it's an easy fix. IT takes less than 10 minutes to put a new box on a Sov. If you broke the circuit board it's history. I would say test it and if it still works send it in to have the box replaced. JMHO
