Hey Roper: I have hunted with my Ace 250 at St. Augustine, Fort Pierce and Jensen Beach & never had a problem. It works great. And with the 12" coil it should work even better, providing more depth than the stock coil. I hunted dry sand and over wet sand, but did not search in the water.

Ran in Relics Mode, Sens. 5 bars, no falsing at all.

Hope this helps.

You better watch it. You get the extra coils for the Ace and you might get hooked on using the Ace for yourself. It is a fun and easy to use detector. It will surprise you.
Yes it can be used on the beach. I have used mine on Fernandina, St. Augustine and mostly on Daytona Beach.

This is from one of my earlier post.

Salt water tips on Daytona Beach for the Ace:

senastivity..4-3 in wet sand
use all metal mode
PP is very vague, detune pp works good
Fast moving water makes it false..sen. 1...no good cure
swing level
You can hear and learn a false hit from a good hit
YOU CAN notch out below penny and eliminate most falsing and all gold
Pennies 4" and quarters at 6" in wet sand
Stay in the dry sand and you can beat them all(well, it seems like it)

Here is one of the 5 rings I have found on the beach. My wife wears 2 of the ring I found on the beach.

You'll have to have a serious talk with her. :) Course now she can find her own rings. I've got a couple of plastic bags full of over 300 rings found over the years. Have given some of the nicer ones away.

Before my wife was struck down with MS she was my detecting partner and found her share of rings and goodies. She really misses it and I miss her at my side. One is lucky to have a wife to share your hobbies with. My wife was not only my detecting partner but my hunting, fishing, prospecting, and anything partner. She never backed away from anything.

Bill, you are truly blessed to have such a wife/partner. A real treasure. I guess its is like missing part of yourself not to have her beside you detecting. But keep the pleasant memories close in your heart. Your fellow MD'er, Ron

THanks Ron. I miss her and she misses detecting big time. AS soon as I hit the door after detecting she wants to see what I've found.

Bill

Sounds like my old lady. She was a garage, estate, flea market, yard sale nut, and the house and attic is full of stuff to prove it.:)

We feel the pain on both sides for you,
Eileen & myself are MD'ing buddies, we always go out together and always discuss our joint finds over a picnic.

Best wishes to you both,
Ian & Eileen
