Deleon vs. Cortes ... Final Question..

Woodstock

New member
First I'd like to thank everyone who weighted in with their opinions on my last post, your all great. But this one last question is a real shot in the dark and I hope someone out there can give me an answer. I live in Central/Northern Wisconsin and I GB my Tejon because I do, not because I know the mineral content. Now that a Deleon has auto GB I'm worried that it'll lack good depth in my soil conditions. I know there's a member out there I think he goes by Scully from Wisconsin so he might know, but if there's anyone else that has detected in the good old Wisconsin dirt with a Deleon and can give me some info on performance please hit this new thread. Happy Trails, Woodstock

Hi Everyone, I decided that if I remove myself from my Tejon to a Deleon I'd end up regretting it so thanks for all the fine help you've given me. And if one of you have a Cortes you want to swap then give me a holler and we can talk. Other than that I'm stick-in' to the Tejon. Again thanks everyone. Happy Trails, Woodstock

You'll want to keep the Tejon because it has raw power to get the deep ones when hunting for those deepers.
Get the Deleon or Cortes because you want an ID machine for general coin and jewelry hunting.
Remember you can't just own one Tesoro, need at least two to cover all ground and hunting conditions.

I have a Cortes and live in Wisconsin (Southern). Not quite the same soil here as you have, but in my experience the Cortes does just fine in this area. I've owned some detectors that are known for going deep (Explorer/Etrac/F75/Coinstrike) and I did not notice a big drop off in terms of performance with the Cortes here.

Having said that, ideally as someone said you'd probably also want a machine like your Tejon for when the conditions require that.
