I have been offered a good deal on the 2 of them, deleon 325, coinstrike 450. i have heard the cs is hard to learn, a friend of mine loved his deleon. which of the two is a better deal.
im pretty sure i am gonna get thr deleon, but still looking into other options. ifyou can suggest another detector in the $400 range i apreciate yoursuggestions.
i prefer to turn it on n go. depth is somthing i like, pinpointing, n weight. i have parkinsons n tire quickly. currently i am using a bh202, pinpointing stinks, and a whites eagle 2, too heavy
thanks for yer help

I think that you kind of have your mind made up on the DeLeon, and I think if you don't get it you will always wish you did. I have owned both and like the DeLeon better, yes I am a faithful Tesoro guy but if I felt the Coinstrike was better I would say so. The Tesoro's are nice & light to so that is a plus for you. You can't go wrong with any Tesoro. BTW - The Eagle is a great detector, I just sold a Eagle II SL, that old baby was way ahead of its time. Steve.

P.S. Not sure if you have ever owned a Tesoro detector or not but if not - I'll let you in on a secret (don't tell anyone because I don't want everyone to know)(ok since no-one is listening, here goes).... Somehow & I don't know how they do it but the good folks at the Tesoro factory in Arizona pack a bunch of "fun" in each detector that has ever went out the door. this I guarantee.

They do--They do---(pack a bunch of fun in 'em, I mean)!!----Every Tesoro I've ever had has been the "most fun" little machines.---OH MAN, now we HAVE let the cat out of the bag!! :crylol:------Del

Yup leave it to me to open my big mouth, now everyone will know :look:. Steve.

Have had a number of Tesoro machines and also most of the other brands high dollar offerings. I currently have a CoinStrike and an old Bandido II uMax somewhere in transit.

You mention you want something you can "tun-on and go", ......with that in mind, I would recommend the Tesoro for you.

The CoinStrike is a great machine, but it does take some learning to use it to it's potential, .. which is amazing! In my opinion the CoinStrike is a machine more for the guys who enjoy studying all the options available on the machine and building programs to fit specific environments and locations. Guys who like to fine tune a machine to reach it's maximum possible potential to a specific situation. White's XLT, DFX, Minelab Explorers, Safari, Quattro, Fisher F75, .... these are those types of machines. Someone who just wants a good quality, dependable, machine they don't have to worry about all that stuff and aren't that deep into the hobby, .... many of the Tesoro machines would be a great choice for them.

Now don't misunderstand, that doesn't mean that Tesoro machines will not perform as well as many of the others, ......... amazingly they will. They may not have all the bells and whistles to play around with like the others, but they get the job done just the same. Many many times in the past I would hunt an area with a 400 dollar Tesoro, return the next weekend with one of my 1000 dollar machines, ......... and find nothing! The Tesoro found it if it was there.

I recently purchased the CoinStrike because I enjoy digging deep into making a machine work to it's max potential, I enjoy that stuff. I bought the old Bandido II uMax for those times when I just want to go out and have some fun detecting. From past experiences I have equal confidence in both that if there is something to be found, ..... it will be found.

What has been said above is certainly true, ........Tesoro machines are all packed with fun when they leave the plant.

Just for the weight factor itself, the Deleon is the better choice. Although you can turn on and go a Coinstrike, Zectron is correct in that you can really juice it up by playing with the threshold and sensitivity adjustments. Those two controls and both independent and dependent on each other ( yeah..figure that one out !). It takes a while to know these controls and how they work and how they tune the detector to the hunting environment you are at. Sometimes you have to adjust the threshold to get better performance, other times the sensitivity, sometimes both !

The ground balance and tracking of the Coinstrike probably make it a better choice in more mineralized ground, but I am not sure where you will actually be hunting.

If its mostly parks and tot lots for coin and jewelry shooting, then the Deleon will work just fine. If you are also going to be into relic hunting and beach hunting then the Coinstrike is better because of the automatic ground balancing, salt mode and tracking.

The C$ is heavier, and with the larger coil, for me, I have to hip mount it. I do like the C$ a lot and continue to be surprised at how it reacts to round objects and locks in on them.

Saying all that, I recommend the Deleon....Tesoros are great ( I like my Tejon with the small coil...killer on small gold, coins on edge and deep brass) and their warranty and customer service is the best in the business.
