DeLeon: Steve this is for you

Steve just thought of this:
My other detector is boxed up for the winter. The DeLeon is out with the 5.75" coil. I have had it over a year and all I do is keep sticking batteries in it when the old ones run low. I have gone hunting 4 days a week, but most weeks it is 2 to 3 days. Most of the time it is a 2 hour but have gone to 4 hour hunts. It has never quit or given me any trouble. I have not had to call Tesoro for any reason. I have not had any other detector make it go crazy. I have detected in the rain with the rain cover on it. I now have detected in 20 degrees weather and if it has any family jewels they are now frozen because mine where. Oh, today I had to use heavy gloves and you can get a nice grip on the detector. The battery doors are made out of plastic so don't open all the way back. I open just far enough to get battery packs in. I have replaced batteries 6 times this summer. Thanks for reading...Z

Thanks zeekeys - glad to see you like the Deleon so much, can't wait to get mine (tomorrow fingers crossed) to try it out. I have read that some people complain about the battery doors on the Deleon, thanks for the tip. It is going to be different having to use 8 AA batteries instead of just one 9 volt battery - but AA's are cheaper. A single 9 volt lasted along time in the Silver uMax I had. Last year I was able to detect the day before Christmas, hoping I can do the same this year. Suppose to be in the middle 40's next week up here (upstate N.Y.). Thanks again zeekeys for all your info on the Deleon, I really appreciate it & I will let you know my results with my Deleon after I receive it.

Hey Steve I too have heard stories about the battery door opening and have never had that problem. I have had my DeLeon for 3 yrs now. I have hunted in all kinds of weather too buy not extreme cold, iwas able to pull mine out of the box yesterday as it was warm here about 45. Took it to the park and in a couple of hours found 25 pennies 6 nickles 2 quarters 6 dimes, a large East Indain silver charm too bad a mower found it first it would be a real nice find. and 1 junque ring not bad at all. Hope you get to go out when yours gets there..............................Keep Looking Down
