deleon settings

Hello me and the wife just received our new deleons and we will be using them for the first time this weekend and I have a couple of questions. What settings should I start with just to get a good feel for this machine?I read the manual and I know what it says different items come in at on the screen but some real world feedback would be appreciated.Does anyone use this machine in the all metal mode while hunting and if so what are the results specifically on coins.Thanks.

My wife bought a new Deleon last year to replace her old Toltec ll which became too heavy for her. It is a simple turn on and go machine, just set the sensitivity to 7 or 8 to start with.

It is a very sensitive detector and may run smoother with a lower sens. setting. The Discrimination, we set it to a point in between Min. and Iron, that way the nickel range comes in strong.

All metal is used when targets are scarce and it lets you sweep the coil without the tight overlapping of the coil, since it a has a broader coverage. Once the targets get more plentiful she will switch to Disc. mode.

I set mine up just above iron and use the numbers/bar graph as my notch disc. Mine is a hot machine and gives a lot of audio feedback. I dig all good sounding targets that are small most of the time. Sometimes in a real trashy spot, I will selectively not dig pull tabs, which come in around 45-60 range.

Also, All the gold rings that my wife has come in from around the single digit numbers up to the mid to upper 20's. I always dig those numbers. Men's gold rings are from nickel up through zinc penny range approximately. More in the trash range.
