deleon question

i have a deleon coming in a few days and was thinking about a couple things. first, with the deleon will an indian head penny hit in the zinc penny area like on a fisher cz or will it hit on the clad - silver area? second, will coins id the same numbers no matter or will they vary a number or two depending on ground conditions? i'm really anxious to get my paws on the deleon and give it a good workout on some old sites that have produced well in the past. the weather is looking good here for the next week and i hope to get some digging in before it changes...........thanks.........roger

I ran with a DeLeon for a year, Indian heads will hit in the zinc range, maybe just before. The numbers did vary from coin to coin and location to location but the bar graph is almost always right. You will like it!

pretty much the same even the brochur that tesoro puts out even says that the deleon and cortes share the same circuitry, it's just the cortes has a few more features thats about it and the display on the cortes is smaller showing the extra info!

Looking for your comments about it after you've been out a few times.

Regardless of the make or model detector you have, Indian Heads will "read" similar to the modern Zinc 1

i will let you guys know how the deleon works for me. mineralization isn't a problem here and i have used beep and dig detectors for years with good luck. always wanted to try a deleon and if for some reason it doesn't perform in my dirt then at least i gave it a try and satisfied my curiosity. but i really think it will do a nice job for coin and jewelry hunting in old home sites and other places i like to hunt. i have owned 3 cz detectors and they do a great job finding deep coins but are a tad heavy if hunting all day. the deleon will be comparable to my silver
