deleon or cibola?

looking for information on the deleon and cibola detectors. i have narrowed it down to these two machines that i'm interested in and would like to hear from some owners
of both machines. i'm mainly a coinhunter in lawns and some old picnic grounds and like the idea of the meter on the deleon for helping pick out some of the coins in all the trash.
i know the meter isn't 100% accurate but between the two detectors which would you say is the best coin hunting machine. is the depth of both machines about the same?
would like to hear some input from owners of these machines with good points and bad points if any exist. happy hunting

I've owned a deleon and the TID is very acurate to about five inches in depth then sometimes the #'s will jump around wicked and find usually i have to turn the sensitivity down all in all good machine but the cibola you will gain more depth plus you have the 180 ed disc which is better than the deleon, i think if you can live without the meter the cibola would be the better choice just so if you do go to 18th century place you'l have the horse power to go deeper plus only 1 9volt battery verses 8aa batterys ok that's just my opinion, thanks for reading

I have the D and have had the C, I second Jav's opinion, I'd take the cibola anyday over the deleon. The cibola is VERY deep in cooperative soil, just have to get accustomed to thumbing the disc knob.

thanks for the information guys! i was leaning towards the cibola but wanted to hear from actual users before i made up my mind. thanks again for the help!

Where about to you live joe? I concidered the C but the ground here isnt cooperative at all....went with the V instead.

Had a Deleon, did 'nt care for the screen. Hard to read in the sun. Found that I used sound most of the time. Had good depth though. I now have Cibola, like it much better. Seems to be a deeper machine.

I'm going to be the contrarian here because I seem to have gotten a little more depth with the Deleon than the Cibola.

The Cibola was my first detector, so inexperience may have had something to do with it.

Also Tesoro calibrated the D to my dirt and I never had them do that with my C.

i'm in west central illinois. the ground here is pretty cooperative in most places i hunt.

If I had a choice of one and the soil conditions are favorable, I'd pick the Cibola. Not only does it go deep and can be super tuned, but I generally hunt by audio. And any of the detectors I have that has a display screen, that information is just additional, but for me, audio is where it's at. I just cant rely on the display information - but there are some features (depending on which machine) I do like about displays. Just my .02
The Cibola was my first Tesoro. The latest Tesoro I bought was the Cortes. Out of my Tesoro's, I use the Silver uMax and Compadre the most.
The Compadre is hard wired with a 5.75 coil, but I mostly use a 5.75 on my other Tesoro's. I get into more trash areas compared to cleaner grounds. I also swing in tighter places where it can be somewhat less limited compared to larger coils.

funny how you go back to the basic machines isn't it? you have a cortes but use the compadre and silverumax the most. i just bought a silver umax recently and love the way it works. i just wanted something a bit more powerful for deeper coins and i think the cibola will fit the bill perfectly. good hunting ........roger

Most def. Cibola I have had both machine also and the Cibola just blows the D out of the water, and now I have the Manual Ground balance mod done as well as a 12x10 coil. It is super deep, a great machine for anyone, thinking about buying another one just for backup.
