They are out finding goody's and we are sitting in front of a computer, hum!

Have had Deleon for some time now. I hate the auto- ground balance. The park I have been working is full of hot rocks and the Quattro ignores them and the Deleon attracts them like a magnet. Too bad because I like the sound of a tesoro and the Quattro is a slow sweep. I understand why people have several detectors and coils for different conditions. My new Tiger Shark with manual ground balance will arrive Thursday. I will have to salvage the wetsuit from the garage sale pile though.

Thats the reason why i got rid of my brand new Deleon , it did not do well at all in VA soil PERIOD!

In the test garden the Deleon with a 8x9 coil out performs the tiger shark with 8 inch in dry soil. The tiger is however much superior in trashy areas with nails. The Deleon works best if I ignore the readout. The times when the readout is meaningful and repeatable are times when I would have already decided to dig given the sound. when I start diggen hot rocks I put the Deleon away. I do like the light weight and use it when I can. Of all my detectors it breaks down the easiest to fit in the trunk of my Harley.

Most of the areas I use my DeLeon have mild soil and the DeLeon works very well there. However, I'd definitely like to see Tesoro bring out a new TID machine with a manual ground balance that works in both the all metal and the discrimination mode. I'd prefer manual to true auto ground tracking so that the user has complete control. My two bits.

Waiting for a new Tesoro Target ID machine................don't hold your breath!!!! They had their chance this year........ but what they really need is some new blood in the engineering dept!!!

[size=medium]I'm one of the recent Deleon Buyers that comes here to see posts about it or the Cortes. I noticed they are sort of rare. I got the Deleon to teach me the single tone variances so I could eventually switch to a Beep and Dig Model. I didn't think it was right to have to dig everything until I learned the Tone variations! The TID and depth gauge and graphs turned out to be so Accurate it surprised me, so now I as I learn the tone I have the Graph and TID to check with before I dig, and the depth gauge is pretty accurate too! I really like the Deleon, It's the perfect MD for me and what I am in detecting for! It's like a breath of fresh air compared to my 705... Thank you for posting a Deleon Post and I hope to see more, Maybe with the TID numbers those rings TIDed at! GL & HH Pat
