Deleon II ..................lomg overdue!!!

Well I'm feeling the need for a target ID detector. I like Tesoro's but I wonder why they have neglected their Target ID units....they are definitely ..long in the tooth. Would like to get a Deleon................but not with a preset GB!!! I'd wish for manual GB option with a backlight too. How tough would it be to incorporate these two features???? Simple changes to the DeLeon would realy help................really want to buy a Tesoro......but as it stands...........If i want an up tp date Target ID unit...Tesoro doesn't have one!! So sad.........forcing me to look else where..How about it Tesoro ... next machine a Deleon 2. And give the beep and digs a bit of a rest. Anyone else with me on this??? Thanx.

I am I would love to see a Deleon with Threshold and Ground Balance Capabilities with a 8 inch donut coil " not Spider Coil" But I think that is a Dream that will never happen

I can pretty much tell what i have in the ground using the beep and dig Tesoros. No need for a screen. That is why i came to Tesoro, got tired of waisting my time looking at a screen. I run circles around the guys using the ID units. And like i said i can pretty much tell everything about my target before i dig it as they can. I even know about how far down it is. Beep and dig is all you need, just get to know your detector. I will never go back to a screen, never.

A funny a thing about women, those with straight hair want it curled and those with curly hair want it straighten.

A Tesoro detector is hard to beat when it comes to finding the good stuff.

I think the thinking is that if you use ID, you don't need gb as it interferes with the other circuitry. AT least I understand the tones ,etc. on the Golden, for example, are slightly altered with a change in g/b.

i'm with texas, learn your machine forget about numbers and go out and dig. all this new machine stuff just turns detecting into a "trading machine" hobby.

Friday last I hit a foot ball , finding some interesting stuff with the Cutlass uMax. And a lot of the time a turn of the Disc dial will narrow down the target and what it could be. Got a fainter but very solid tone ( didn't think to dial up the disc) I was running disc 3 sens in the boost mode. And a 1950 Franklin half was my reward after 8-9" of digging.
Now if another machine had been in my hand and had given me weird numbers with a mixed tone on that target because it was just out of its accurate ID, would I be telling you about a spot that didn't have much ?

I like them for the " make me dig " factor. My Tesoro machines have found all my gold, and I wonder ( even with all my massive trash digging with my ID machine) how many golds I have passed over due to nasty numbers?
I do know my beep digs find the gold oh and Silver too :)

Many of the "beep and dig fans" obviously miss the point. If your happy with beep and dig... fine. My point .....why not upgrade the target id units??? Why let them rot in your detector lineup??Texas Ted would never be able to pick out the $1.00 and $2.00 coinsup herre in Canada, with his beep and dig...period. I use a Bandito U max and sSilver Umax... they do not make differeing sounds for these desirable coins. But the Deleon can pick them out by numeric category quickly and .easily... but only in mild ground due to pre set GB.I picked up over $400.00 in one dollar coins and $700.00 in two dollar coins last year!!! ( In Canada there are no one dollar bills or pennies, govt discontinued them..............and is talking about replacing the $5.00 bill with a five dollar coin.) The one and two dollar coins are prolific..used for parking meters, pop machines.....tips in restaurants etc. etc. everyone has some in their pockets. So target id takes on a whole new meaning up here.

I have a Deleon that I just purchased used. I love it. It id's iron very well. and the numbers are a big help. If I could change it I would put a back light on it, put a volume control on it, and ad a manual or auto ground balance. Oh, and also I would spread out the numbers on the high end a little maybe. Like 92 for dimes and pennys and 95 for quarters and halfs. 100 for dollars. All that being said, I really like the machine.

Agree. I like beep and dig BUT, for cherry picking Target ID is nice. With my Golden it is almost impossible to tell difference between a dime and quarter signal. But with my other machine (it has a screen/TID) I can tell quarter and dime apart very easily. Best with shallow targets obviously but a very valuable addition.

Is all just a guess. Whether it is numarical ID or disc knob. If you turn up the disc knob until it goes away and then say to yourself, " that's a pulltab'" , well it may be or it may not be. Same with the numbers. If you hit an 45 and say that's usually a pulltab or whatever. Well it may be or it may not be. On the other hand you can turn the disc down and dig ever thing above a certain setting. You can also do this with the numer id. Dig everthing above a certain number. It seems that a lot of Tesoro users are hung up on number id being inherently bad. :) In my opinion they both do very much the same thing.
