Had about three hours to kill after work last night and with gas prices as they are went to the Middle school 1 mile from home. I was working the field I found a 1935 Washington quarter. First hour all I had to show for it was a 1959 penny and a pocket full of foil, pulltabs and can slaw. So I figured I'd give the football field a try first good signal was a silver St. Christopher medal. Just random walking around no real gridding or search pattern I found a few clad coins.made my way to the far side of the fields goal post. Got a good target reading silver bout 2" down and dug out a small silver ring wiht a cz stone. Worked around the goal post a little more found some more clad got another nice silver signal bout the same depth and dug out a silver butterfly ring that looked like it had been stepped on. The band was cracked in two places, Welll you know how time flies when I had to go pick up my son and was almost late so on the way to the truck at a very fast pace still swinging about 40" form the truck I hit a signal that stopped me in my tracks you know the kind that says dig me, well it read silver at 6" dropped to my knee cut a nice plug as I was in a empty lot with tall grass and out popped a 1959 Roosevelt dime in great condition. What makes that even nicer is that is the first rosie from year I was born. Anyway thanx for reading hope to get pics posted soon as my home comp is dead.

Congrats on the very nice silver! It sounds like you had a very nice hunt. Those walking hits sure do get me also, great job, Beale.

Sounds like a great hunt.

That's a double wammy on the silver.

WTG,

I like it!
Good to hear the hunt finally paid off after all the tabs and can slaw.

Man, am I starting to hate tabs and can slaw!
When I see someone with a tab in their hand
I'm giving them that look that says,
"you had better not throw that down.":starwars:

Gad you guys have the wrong attitude about foil, pull tabs, can slaw. I dig it and say thank you and put it in my pouch saying this is #78. I figure 1 out of a 100 you get a real good hit. So in about 22 more hits the universe will give me a good hit. Something like a glass ring with an adjustable band on it....hehehe..... Got you again...Z

Ain't that something.

You almost know for sure it's foil,

but you dig it anyway.

That's how I find gold.

When it's shallow and not

spread out, it has that sharp

sound when you scan it.

I get excited when I hear that

because some times it's gold,

and easy to dig.

That's neat when it happens.

HH,

Yeah you cant beat it specially when you see that glint of gold poking out of the dirt that will always get your heart pumping.I see why this hobby is sooo... addicting when I go out I usually aim for at least 1$ in clad a hunt but more is always better and rings are the icing on the cake
