Ended two droughts today first was my two month ring drought second was tot lot gold. It has been a long two months the last ring I found was a silver ring on the 4th of July. I have been putting lots of hours behind my DeLeon at least 2 or 3 hours everyday after work and weekends that I am off 6 or more on Saturday and Sunday. I was beginning to think I was doing something wrong. In The past few years I have been averaging a ring a week or at least one or two a month so I was having ring with drawls. I have been hunting the same areas that have produced many rings with no luck maybe they are cleaned out, I will find out for sure when I get my clean sweep for next year. Anyway I decided to try a different location and went to a park I have been to a few times with only clad to show for finds. Talk about finding a needle in a haystack this park has a good sized tot lot and instead of sand or gravel the floor is covered with shredded tires along with pieces of valve stems and small pieces of other metals I have been cleaning this junk out every time I go there and it payed off after a few clad coins I got a low 14 -16 signal and unlike can slaw it was locked in at that range I kicked some of the rubber away and there she was the little gold edge of a ring! Hot Dog! My first tot lot gold of the 60 or so rings I have found over the years all from parks and sports fields I finally got one. I have read many stories about all the great rings found in tot lots but either someone beats me to them or they are just not there I believe the latter because I have been the first one to the tot lots many weekends countless times. Hope this is a sign of things to come as fall soccer is in full swing. As I had just gotten to the park and found the ring I figured I would see what else we the DeLeon and I, could dig up. After a little while school let out and I was forced out of the lot by kids. So I hit the open fields hmmm baseball field tree lines found more clad in and around the backstop and field worked the tree line and found a nice coin spill with 7 quarters in it plus dimes nickles and pennies ended up with over 4.00 for the almost three hours I was there not a bad afternoon in my books.Anyway thanks for reading here are the goods from today's hunt
