Here are results of tot lot with the 5" coil. The DeLeon has been in storage for a while so took it out yesterday and did a tot lot. I got 33 coins, thimble, knife and the penny under the thimble is a 1945 wheat penny. Who is walking around with a 1945 penny?
Thanks tabdog for you help on photo. I think I have it??? Thanks for looking. Jer

Zeekys:

See you and Dave got the photo shoot going..Sorry I was unable to help you more.Like I said I just started pics and Dave helped me too.

He's a big help !!!..........Nice finds. And I wonder who had that blade on a tot lot....................Answer maybe for your 1945 penny..Lately I have gotten Wheats
in with reg.Pennies from the bank..I think hard times are causing people to spend coins thats not really valuable, but they were holding on because they were older. I got about 15 40"s wheats in 5 rolls of pennies just the other day...and it was easy seeing they were not dug wheats someone was cleaning out from their finds. Just a thought might not be correct......

Thanks for the help Elton. Dave sent me a number of e-mails and asked me to call him. He gave me just what I needed to get things going.
When I was a kid I had a knife in my pocket but nothing like the one I found. The knife blade was open and found razor blades in the sand also. Little kids are always in danger.
Wanted to get out today but drizzle and about 40 today so just sitting here listening to some old 40's music. It is getting close to boxing the detectors up for the season. Enough thanks Elton and tabdog... Jer

Thanks too me is not necessary......Dave is the guy with the knowledge

Yes it is the 5.75. Sorry don't want to start another rumor about a new coil Tesoro is coming out with. Kind of just thought maybe everyone would understand it was the 5.75. It is a good reminder that I should not be so general. I know some of the guys are really on top of what is going on with metal detecting and very interested in changes that must be around the corner with all the big detector companies. Sorry again.
I am just into detecting for the meditative benefits, exercise and the fun of the surprise of finding. I know many of the guys would not like to hunt with me because I hunt differently than most of the guys I have seen the past 3 years out there hunting. I am generally slow and I do pattern searches it takes me days or weeks to go through a beach. Some days I only have 6 or 7 coins for 3 or more hours of detecting. Some days I talk to someone who asks me about metal detecting for a very long time. It does not concern me that someone will get there before me and get it all. With a small coil I dug 41 coins in a trash area that is the entrance to the beach. So it meant that all of us were passing this area up. Got 2, 1935 nickels and 7, (40's, 50's)pennies. It kind of looks like many of us were passing it up for some time. Thanks for reading...Jer

Jer:
