Deleon: All metal mode?

Ok here is my question. I have had the Deleon for a month now and have found some pretty cool stuff but I have been thinking about the all metal mode on my machine. I hardly use it. Can someone explain why I should be using it? I did take a posters advice; on some signals I will kick it over into all metal mode to try and see if it goes to the upper part of the scale which helps me decide to dig. The only thing I don't dig is a solid iron signal with a reading of less than 30 or so. Am I doing something wrong here? Thanks.

The AM mode can be fun where the digging is easy, you will reach quite a bit deeper with it than in the disc mode. The nice thing about the AM mode is that you do still get depth and TID output. So if your site isn;t too trashy it can be a way to hunt deeper. I have flipped it into AM mode on a target that refuses to settle down and found that it can help. Also AM mode can help you profile the target. A large target will give you a large pinpoint area, a coin will be well, coinsized. An aluminum can will give you a very wide signal whereas a chunk of canfetti will wander around in its pinpoint a bit kind of like iron does.

The am mode can help when pinpointing your target location especially if the coin is laying on an angle. My machine is set quite hot and I have found that it makes too much noise over anything other than neutral soil, playsand sends it through the roof. I have heard that some Deleon users have modded their machines to attach a multi turn trimpot so that they can manually GB the unit in the AM mode.

The thing that would make the DeLeon much better is a variable signal pitch control like is on the Tejon.

My DeLeon's all-metal tone was a little low for my ears.

With my Tejon it's hard to hunt in discrimination because all-metal gets maybe 3-4 inches more depth and is awesome fun! But, in trashy areas I have to return to only 8-9 inches deep on dimes using discrimination mode.
