Defective F70's

Michigan Badger

New member
I knew this would get your attention

I have a chance to buy a F70 that was made last year and was wondering if there were any manufacturing issues with those earlier F70's?

I'd heard the F75 had problems in the beginning and so I'm wondering about the F70.

Thanks,

Badger

There were a few coil problems with a small amount of F75.Mostly it was people did not understand the lightening fast response. Heard all kinds of beeps and thought machine was defective..When in reality it was working faster than anything they had ever experienced.
By the way..that includes me..My machine was perfect, but I thought it was bad...Haven't heard of many F70 problems at all.

Once I understood the F75..WOW..it was great...

Just like the F75, the F70, some thought had perceived problems. Not really at all. I'm not suggesting that they were none that did. There's always a few from any company that act flunky, but to say they had problems with them wouldn't be correct.

Now with that said, your always taking a chance purchasing used equipment. One needs to weigh the cost savings of used with no warranty, against the cost of new with a warranty. Drop me your phone #, & I can go over it, and shoot you a price.

Have a nice day.

Thanks Bill I appreciate your advice.

I just bought a new one prior to coming here for this post.

It was made last year but it's still brand new and I'm getting it from a dealer.

Thanks EL,

I decided to order a new F70 and start there. The 75 was just a bit too pricy for me in this economy.

I hear the 11" coil they use on the F75 rules on the F70.

I know what you mean by thinking it was bad and then finding out you were wrong. I did this same thing with the Nautilus IIB. The really great machines out there all have a learning time.

Elton you are so right! I remember when I first turned on my F75 after I got it in the mail. I was in my kitchen, threw a dime on the ground, had the Disc at 0 and swept the coil over the floor - rat - tat -tat -tat-tat -tat-tat , like a machine gun. No matter where I swung it, it was hitting like a freaking machine gun. I was like - oh heck this thing is just like everyone is saying - unstable and jumpy. I goofed around with the settings and finally figured out that I had it set correct. Turns out, it was reading every single nail in my hardwood floor - which is pretty amazing considering it also picked up the dime. My experience with F75 only got better and better in the field and the more I got used to it.
