Deepest CW relic find?

Canewrap

New member
As a relic hunter I'm always looking to get my hands on the deepest seeking machine I can. My reasoning has always been that the older machines (late 70s to early 90s) wouldn't have had the depth capability we have now so it should be possible to keep picking up finds in areas deemed hunted out, if I'm using latest and greatest technology. What has your experience been? How deep have you managed to find your CW relics?

I recovered a CW spoon that was in 3 perfectly fit broken pieces at over 15 inches using a Minelab XS. How did I know that it was CW? There was a 3 ring minie right beside it. The Explorer is a deep seeker but with a slow recovery time. You gotta swing slow. I prefer the Nautilus 2B.

Eagle cuff button at 18 inches using the Nautilus DMCIIB with a 15-inch coil. Sandy coastal soil of SC.

only found one civil war relic, the wreath half of a 2 piece belt buckle, and i think it was about 3 inches. but then again I'm using a bounty hunter and i don't know if they get good depth.

I would have to say my deepest relic is a scabbard tip that was deeper than my entrenching tool.... at least 18''. Found with the Tejon.
