Deeper than I thought

I was using the 5x10 DD today, GB @ 24, Sens at max 30, Pattern 1, and was hitting dimes at 7-8"measured inches, with good strong audio and locked on ID's. (clad) -- I was a bit surprised by the depth, but had not run the 5x10 @ max power before. Ground was pretty clean, no real problems with falsing. The HF coils seem to work well for me. Reliable ID's, (though it seems to read about 2 ID#'s higher than the other coils on like targets), easy to rule out the iron falsing with the AM trick, and much less chatter/noise than the 7.5 or 3 kHz coils at the hi power settings. I really like the super light weight of it also. Don't know why, but I just don't seem to get the performance from the 6"DD????? -- Though many claim the HF's are noisy, They seem good for my soil. Only dislike was that I dug some very deep and very small pieces of can slaw that ID'ed as coins, ...........though if I went into the Prospect Mode, and "sized" the target, it helped to prevent deep digs for aluminum. --- No rocket science here, just thought I'd pass it along..........

That's the coil that stays on my 70 almost full time. Much better depth than most realize.

Bottom line is these are Great Machines. Once learned, especialy by a new hobbiest they are real good. I think most of these coils can be used and manipulated very well. But optimum coil choice will very depending on area.
