deep water detector

kneedet

New member
I have done some searches on here and not able to find a quick answer. For those of you that have compared different water detectors, i would like to hear your comparisons on which one in your opinion is deeper. the SS PI strangely only seems to get about six to eight inches and comes off weak on identifying targets. in your opinion what are your three top water machine's for salt water beach hunting both wet and dry sand with the exception of diving on east coast beaches, VLF or pi? thanks for your help

As an Xcal user i have to say it will pay for its self and is flexible in that you can use it anywhere there is a beach or water. But you might want to wait on the reviews from the new ML detector. If it has inproved TID and processor speed it could replace some of the beach machines. You have to know your beach for a PI..... but i think it is a necessary machine to have around. IF you are a digger and dont mind digging everything the PI is the way to go...... you just dont miss much. IF you want to cover more beach looking for the big tickets the Xcal.

HUH? are you talking about the tesoro sand shark? if so, then you are TOTALLY wrong about it's depth. the tesoro sand shark easily goes as deep as any other water detector.
as for target identification & pinpointing - these are absolutely no problem with the tesoro sand shark. i use the 10.5" coil - pinpointing is almost too easy.
as for wet sand detecting - the tesoro sand shark will qyickly wear your arm out unless you mount the control box on your body.
there are PLENTY of good posts on the tesoro sand shark in the tesoro forum - read them. there are also good posts there about the different pi dertectors by people who have used the main 4.
i bought my tesoro sand shark 5 years ago after doing much due diligence. it was worth my time as i could not be happier with my detector.
if it is there the shark will tell you when you have found it.
