Deep Silver settings

Gannon

New member
Hey folks V3I newb. Could someone post a link or post up there OWN deep silver settings? I know one exists on the machine but stock programs can be tweaked to optimize performance and depth.
I live in Tennessee
Medium mineralization
Soil is 0-4 inches silt Loam
4-15 inches silt clay Loam
I hunt mostly permissions and schools. Trash is medium to high.
Thanks
G

I would not recommend someone elses settings, ground conditions and hunting styles vary too much. What is good across town may not be the best for you. I would start with the factory settings and fine tune it to your ground, hearing, swing speed and so forth. That is the strongest selling point of the V3i, it can be made into a personalized detector just for you.

No. 1, set the ground filter to 5HZ Band-pass. That'll make the most impact in moderate minerialization

Don't make several setting changes all at once.

The second suggestion is true, the first one..... probably not.

Ground filters has more to do with swing speed, 5 Khz favoring a slow swing. Slow swing is best used in trashy ground. A faster swing speed and higher ground filters generally gives more depth with limits of course.. 7.5 high pass worked best for me in my ground. Band Pass is the better selection when you experience electrical interference such as power lines and cell phone links, otherwise, high pass will give better depth.

There is very little you can do about mineralization to improve performance other than have a smaller footprint such as a smaller coil or a DD coil or both is better yet.

Okay great thanks for the replies!

But I think any band pass allows a faster swing than not band pass. I think.
