Can anyone recommend which coil to buy,to get a little deeper with the V3? I'm getting down fairly deep now,but being greedy,I would
like to see if I'm missing anything deeper!

As long as your ground isn't highly mineralized, the Super 12 coil is going to give you nmax depth for now....we'll have to wait and see re: aftermarket coils.

Great...I will give it a shot.I already have a Super 12 that I use on my DFX. My poor DFX has been totally ignored since I got the V3.
Thanks for the info.

The best performance is going to come from a "V tuned" Super 12. Most likely your is not. You can check the serail #...if it starts with a "v" is is, otherwise it is not. Also keep in mind tweaking your V's settings is another way to get more depth out of the same coil. It's not just the coil, but how you use it!

You don't say what you are looking for. If it is coins, the deep silver program will probably get you as deep as you want to dig.

I guess I will break down and go after a new 12 inch coil, mine is definetly the older version. Playing around with the tweaking is fun,so I'm looking
forward to that. It's so easy to re-set it all too.Last evening found a nice silver ring 7.5 inches down, with a root grown right through it.I thought that was pretty neat!

Yes,your right.I should have mentioned it.Coins are my main hunt, but it's fun finding the odd tidbit.

Just like Larry said, deep silver is a great program, but there are settings within it that I personally don't care for. The great thing is, you can make a duplicate of the program, rename it(Butch's Coin Killer) and tweak the settings that you may not like. In my case, I'm not referring to settings that have a lot to do with depth performance, but rather audio tones and VCO in the mixed mode. I love VCO for pinpointing, but not so much during search. I also tweaked my ground filter to 7.5Hz band...seems to work best for MY ground and sweep speed....you may find that not the case. I also use the "pine" screen....I like the color scheme better!

I use the high pro program and am getting minnie balls down to a measured 14" In my ground I can crank the gain to 15, boost on, and disc between 88-92 if no EMI. In places where power lines are a problem I have had to go to single frequency 22.5

You may try one of the single frequencies since that alone will give you an inch or 2 more depth since all the power goes to that single one and is not divided. I used mine about 5 times in hard worked sites with good results then the heat came and not detecting for me till fall.
