I went back to the old park today and gave the x70 another workout. For the first two hours, I didn't find one single coin. I would have dug a zinc penny just to say I found something, but not even that. There are areas of this park where I find things from the 1950's and areas I find stuff from the 1890's. Today I hunted hard and thoroughly, but with no luck. I was digging iffy deep signals and I purposely dug alot of trash. After about two hours, I went to an area that I always find a 50's silver or wheats. Nothing but 7 inch deep clad. I was going to head home when I decided to walk a couple of hundred yards to the area I find the oldest coins. I don't find much here anymore, but anything I do find is fairly old. This spot is low and is most of the time under water in the spring, but today it was dry. After about ten minutes, I go a five arrow deep signal that was bouncing between high and medium tones(I run three tones). Showing five arrows, I dug a little bigger plug and got the intial plug to about 8 inches. Bam, dead center in the hole, I find a 1926 buffalo nickle. I rescan the hole and there is another solid 12 vdi. I cleaned all the lose dirt out by hand and used my probe to locate the target. Two inches deeper, (now an honest 10 inches) I find another buffalo. I rescanned the hole and it was dead. I scanned the lose dirt on my drop cloth and there is a 10 vdi target in the lose dirt. 1906 Liberty nickle in great shape. Three old nickles from 8 to 10 inches. I'm really starting to like this detector. I was using the 10.5 dd 7.5khz coil and it is a fantastic setup. I am getting great depth and great coverage with this coil. R.L. Johnson
