Deep Nickels question

Help;
Been finding IHs and older dimes, but not many old nickels. Would assume they are there, but?
I've dug alot of junk thinking they were nickels, found that at least shallower nickels tend to bounce around less than pulltabs and such, is this not neccessarily the case for the deepies?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I switch over to digital and if it's bouncing from 3 to 5, I dig, but the tone is what really does it. I've had a good March for old nickels, but silver has been scarce.
