Deep Mode

I was waiting for some one with more experience answer but here is why I don't hunt in deep mode. It's because of the tone selection which is only 2 tone but I basically search for high conductors and nickel 28-29 id range targets. and if something else sounds smooth, I'll dig it or dig iron bits/can slaw that are shallow to rid them from the ground for safety purposes since I basically coin shoot at tot lots and parks.

I will with my Impact after I've cleaned an area out pretty good.

I've hunted with deep mode a fair bit going all the way back to the Racer2, Impact and MMK. Worked great hunting demo site dirt piles, also used it to double check iffy targets. You have to go a fair bit slower then the other search modes, but it's definitely a great search mode to have available at your finger tips.

I'll sometimes switch to deep mode (I keep it at 99 gain) to check iffy targets when hunting in 4-tone. You'll get solid ID's at serious depth. I'll also use deep mode when going through not-too-trashy hunted out ares.

I like the Impact deep mode in the Golden Triangle hunting for nuggets as it handles the high mineralisation well except the hills and the Nokta manual is very conservative. In 20 Hz mode I got a strong high pitch signal in very hard ground 6 inches deep and was confident it was a nugget but it was a bent rusty nail. The trick is to always carry a gold specimen or small nugget with you when you are first using the Impact. If I remember right-it was 2 years ago-setting the notch filter setting to 20 or 25 masked both the nail and the gold lying on the ground.Changing the setting to 20 or 25 masked the nail but gave a signal for the gold.I would have to run the test again to be certain of the figures but 20 and 25 were definitely the two figures. This post is only an example of what can be done in deep mode with its 2 tone restriction.Hot rocks gave a static broken low tone.
In D2 or D3 and 20 Khz the break tone is extremely helpful in masking the tin foil -manufactured pre 1910 encountered next to gold diggins or the silver foil in parks or picnic areas
It is very easy to set the low and high limits in this case 15 and 21 and you will see two markers on the horizontal scale on the top.The foil gives a reading of 18 on all pieces found.gold is not masked as it comes in a lot higher, around 40.

Multi Kruzer
Deep mode
Anfibio coil
Gain as high as your ground will allow
5khz chasing deep silver
Slower swing speed
Forget target ID as the real deep targets will jump or just give a blip. You hear a constant whisper dig it!
Non trashy sites of course
Get ready to be amazed!
