Hello everyboby;
Just ask your ideas about running the Explorer with FAST and DEEP at the sametime?
I heards that some people are using it and what they get with this setting.
Thanks in advance

Hi Folks. I have just bought a new Explorer XS.The display shows : SEPT 2000. Is that the latest software version? Regards, Gombie

I typically always have deep & fast on.
The exception would be that I actually find a park/area clean of junk and I want to stretch every bit of depth out of the XS. In that case, I turn fast off.
Deep is pretty self-explanatory - it's allowing deep, iffy signals to pass through - not filtering them out. Obviously this will also allow it to pass iffy junk signals too. Fast just resets id'ing quicker - unfortunately a smidget of depth is sacrificed.
At least that's my take on all if it. As a reference, I've only hunted local parts of Illinois and the deepest ever found is about 8"....clay shows up around 10-12". Land only.
