Deep faint targets?

How do deep faint targets sound compared to a shallow one? I am finding lots of shallower targets but maybe be passing deeper ones thinking they are just false signals. Please explain what I should look for when searching for deeper coins and relics. Are the signals repeatable even when deep?

Have you ever heard deep silver? Its weak, not the earblowing tone of a shallow coin, but its repeatable and for the most part not broken up. Whats your gain set to? I set mine at 9 but the tones on deep coins are still modulated. A good way to hear a deep coins is to find one you think is deep by your depth finder then simply turn your gain down. That should give you some idea as to the tone.
