deep coin hunter needs Tejon Advice

I am looking into the Tejon for my next coin machine. I have been detecting for several years and am familiar with GB, proper sens settings, sweep speed, etc. Now I see the Tejon with its duel disc as a coin hunting asset. I like the quick response time that i have heard others speak about. I like the depth claims I hear however I was wondering if the 17.5kHz is to high for deep silver? I also have heard others claim that the Tejon has its own language to assist in target id. I know it does not have tone id like a sovereign or a golden sabre, But I was wondering if someone could elaborate on the tejon and its language.
Also and what I guess is the most important part of the question. Is the Tejon impossible to run silent. I have heard the tejon being called "high strung" and noisy. Is it a complete chatter box?

Thanks so much in advance for any feedback
Jason

I wouldnt call the Tejon a "chatter box", not if you have it set up properly. There are conditions where it will chatter but simply turn the sensitivity down until its quiet. I have never been to spot yet where I had to turn the sens below 9 1/2. It is sensitive and it will give you occasional snaps and pops on targets right at the edge of the disc setting, but once you recheck the spot you will be able to tell its junk. Beyond that it runs silent, thats why so many people like it.

The Tejon has no problem with deep silver or any other metal. Silver and copper are high conductivity metals, the Tejon handles them very well.

When I talk about the Tejon's language I am really referring to how it can tell you iron from a good target. You must use good quality headphones or you might not be able to distinguish it, but there is a distinctive "snap" or sharpness to iron targets that you can hear with a little practice. Good targets have a real smooth "beep", a real mellow sound. Setting your tone to about the 3 o'clock position will give you the best audio for distinguishing iron targets. Thats really all there is to the Tejon language.

Give it a try Jason, and see for your self. It is very hot on gold, and coins and buttons on edge. Take it to all you favorite places, the ones you think you have all cleaned out. That is usually a good test. But be ready to dig deep.
