Decision time, after 32 years without a car payment it's time for ole .........

Ray to buy another means to go from point "A" to point "B"

Time for a new truck :clapping:

The ole 77 Chevy is running just fine but like she is, she is getting older by the year and like the human body it will start to break down and in time that car will just say, Ray, no more cross country trips please and I know it.

That car has served me well for 32 years, been coast to coast and took me to many states to meet many of you even back to Wisconsin and home again this past June, she's been good to me for 32 years, many of you have seen this car, a few of you have been lucky enough to sit in her while she took you down that highway, their will never be another like her but I'm gonna let her go now so she can be a local car and probably live another 20 years if she finds a good home, that's the least I can do for my old friend

I'm thinking new Toyota pick up now, not sure yet, thinking Toyota because of my $300 work truck back in Wisconsin that had 318,000 miles on it and didn't even leak oil ;)

Gonna be hard to part with the Chevy but it's time after 32 years, ya think

I think she'll last for ever if she finds the right home but I want a new truck now so I can take off and head east or north without worry about snow and winter weather, I'm gonna take my time and have one by fall

I have an '89 Chevy 1500 truck with 195,000 on her. The paint is peeling, the interior is rough but OK, and she has 4 brand new BF Goodrich 100,000 mile tires on her. This has always been my thinking.....
I can afford to put 1,000.00 per year into her in order to keep her running but that's a heck of a lot cheaper than a 2 or 300.00 per month car pmt. Plus, she is made of METAL, I pity the fool that pulls out in front of me. I haven't put any money into her in quite sometime although the tranny is starting to slip a little. (she's on her second trans. right now). If it goes I'll get her done and keep on rolling, at least until the tires wear out.

never had a trans problem with her, in fact my 77 has about 300,000 miles on it and has never let me down or even had a flat tire in 32 years, the jack has never been used, never been used, it ran out of gas one time but it ran out right at the pump from a trip back home from Vegas, now that's loyalty

I know all about cars and most of all Chevy's, my first one was a 55 two door with a 283 and four on the floor, probably before you were even born Rick, dad took it from me for ditching school and sold it ;)

In 32 years with the 77, I had my trans service one time, think about that for a moment, one time in 32 years, now that's loyalty

Trust me, I know all about Chevy's as much as I do baseball, not very many folks can say if any that but I can, now in my later years I want to move on and say so long my old friend and be able to drive in the nasty weather of the far north and eastern states during winter, my old friend the 77 can't and with any luck some young kid will fall in love with it just like I did 32 years ago and keep her on the road, now that's loyalty

.... you ought to be able to find a car or truck on Craig's list or local auto trader magazine that someone needs to sell ... low miles ..... $7,000 or $8000 for a 25,000 to 35,000 vehicle. In 2009 you ought to be able to find a new 2008 or 2007 vehicle for way off sticker .... Have I mentioned how much I hate buying cars or insurance?

Good luck Ray.
