Decided to focus on older finds instead of gold this morning.:detecting:

I went to Mangrove Bay this AM for a little in the water relic hunting. I just wanted a change from the tourist beaches and the search for bling bling.
Mangrove Bay is located in Somerset, Bermuda and the old british regiment had there barracks there. I've hunted this beach numerous times and it amazes me how it keeps giving up old loot no matter how many times i pound it with the Excal.
The best finds of the day were a Bermuda knife in the shape of a fish, a Rosie dime (undetermined date so far) and a 1934 british large cent that had been used for target practice (based on the large dent in the middle of this coin). I found a couple of Bermuda Bus/Ferry tokens at $3 a piece and several WWII era british large cents, plus a 1966 QEII shilling.
I had some fun and enjoyed my bonus day off.

Cheers All,

I know what you mean... Most of my time this year has been spent digging dirt lookin' for oldies. (the beaches had been sanded in big time). Don't get me wrong, I love finding gold but I get a big kick out of finding something old. :)

Looks like a beautiful place to hunt, I love looking over the water and seeing the boats moored out like that. Speaking of boats , how did your friends make out on there Catamaran trip? Great looking Knife also. HH

It's a ring, GH, but just barely. Some kind of girly wired thing without any markings. It probably just junk but the Princess thinks it's cute so she's claimed it, go figure. It's either sapphires and diamonds or cutesy junk with my gal, just no middle ground for her. I guess that's how she manages to put up with me.

Cheers,
