I have seen several advertised as strong enough to use on dry and wet sand. any pro and cons on brands or types? Do they hold up ok?

Not allowed to mention brands that are not sponsored on this site. The names will be deleted. You can google information or Pm members for help. Unfortunately this isn't a freedom of speech site. Good Luck!!!!!

it has nothing to do with freedom of speech. This is a privately owned forum that most anybody can join and post, but you don't have to support the sponsors. You just can't post links to manufacturers that do not support these forums.

JW, I just mentioned the name of the scoop that my friend was carrying when he drowned and they deleted it. I never posted a link. I whole heartedly support the sponsors of this site. The ppl here have been great.

I got the galvanized wire mesh one I pictured in the other post from KellyCo. I am surprised I haven't ripped the handle off prying cans out of wet sand so I could throw the cans away. Reilly's Treasured Gold (RTG) has a good selection including a stainless mesh scoop about the same size (part number RTG33-SS). They are both sponsors. The post recommending Jimmy Sierra didn't get zapped ... so that may be a place to look that sponsors here.

Do a web search on the two words sand scoop and a lot of links turn up for dealers who offer various products.
enjoy!

Many of the sponsors on this site have several really good scoops. I have found that for the most part, this site has all you need....great sponsors with great products and lots of folks with great information.

If you hate bending down, get a long handled scoop. I bought a stainless steel hand scoop several years ago from Kellyco and it has held up well. I had to modify it by putting a long handle on it and I now use it for wading.
