...the sea was calling me. And my Excalibur. After all, it's waterproof...what's a little rain?
Well, it was a LOT of rain and some lightning. And I ended up getting soaked and nearly drying out again before it was over. But the targets were many and the digging endless. I wound up hunting for about 4.5 hours, from 9 PM until about 1:30...for the 10 PM low tide, so the tide was WELL on it's way back in by the time I pulled the plug.
Anyway, going down there was a good decision. And one of the main reasons I got the Excal over the Sovereign Elite I was using last summer was because we had so many rain days last summer...I figured rain won't stop me any more now. Lightning will though, and I had to take refuge under the pier for almost half an hour at one point. But it was a good hunt. Lots of beach erosion going on down there too!
Pics of the final take...2 silvers and 2 golds...10K and 22K:
