December 13th hunt in Minnesota

The weather got warm, 34 f and it was overcast and no wind, and in this part of Minnesota we have no snow ground is bare, so I disided to go hit a wood chip lot using the Sunray S-8 coil found lots of good things close to metal posts, some out in the open the 1st 2" of ships where loose but then it was frozen i had to use my pick to get down and pry up the wood chips to get the coins, found a nice STERLING EARING and a BLUE RING i dont know what the ring is made of it has some weight to it but not like gold , I took three breaks and ate some chips and really enjoyed the hunt gladd i listened to Jim to get out ,

Not a bad hunt Gunner.
If the ground is not frozen, I usually try to get out as much as I can and somtimes it really pays off.
Never know what the next hunt will yield!!!

I was with maxwedge when I first read that you ate some "chips" lol Hope they were good? nice finds Gunnar! man, that woodchip pile literally paid off. Woodchip piles are very interesting to hit as I was at a woodchip pile at the very beginning of the season and must have found a handful of wheat pennies and 50-60 clad pennies. What is that object that I circled in your pic? Token of some sort? Never know what you are going to find and WHERE you are going to find it. Glad you were able to get out. Hopefully you will be able to return to this woodchip pile and give it another go. - Jim

Jim that is a button , from a modern jacket, du to my evolutionary state not being a beaver i had to pass on the wood chips and eat potatoe chips, albeeit the mushrooms in the wood chips may be edible , I would not want my todlar playing in that playground and eating those nasty muchrooms but down about 6 " inches the chips have turned to black dirt

Good to hear you passed on the wood chips and ate the potato ones. Hope there is a sequel on the woodchip treasure hunt.
