Dear Diary,
Both Elton and I sent off our traded detectors yesterday. The withdraws are terrible. I downloaded the x-terra 70's manual and can't wait to get the machine. I think I'm really going to enjoy it. lots of techno stuff to learn.
I mentioned the trade on White's forum. not the one on Find's but a different one. They deleted the post because I mentioned the "M" word. Can you believe that? How silly. I even said wonderful things about the M6 and they still deleted my post. You'd think that they would be happy for me. Oh Well
Meanwhile Diary my wife still won't....................................
 
I think the White's guys are running a little scared when they see someone pull out an X-Terra 70.

Detector envy ! (especially when I whip out my big 10.5 inch:hot:)


Sometimes you just have to go to the dark side to see the light :detecting:

Dear Diary
Tuesday's delivery of my X-terra 70 is one more day closer. it' a beautiful day out there and it's driving me nuts being detectorless.
Elton could possibly receive his M6 outfit I traded for it today because I sent it via priority mail. If not today then tomorrow.
Meanwhile I keep surfing the web for information and tips about the 70. That's what a lot of people call it I guess. The 70.
I also learned from the web that some dude named "Digger" knows a lot about the 70 and reading many of his posts has been very helpful.
Well, back to the Internet to see what else I can learn about the 70.
 
What's funny is when that x70 arrives we won't hear from him for several days... the dear diary will go cold..:laugh: good luck man... be sure to check out the Faqfaq. there is alot of info... I had to wait almost a month for my trade to sell..so I know what you are going thru...Gh
 
All the posts people have put on this site as well as some others such as www.minelabowners.com sure did give me a head start. I almost felt like I knew the 70 before I got it.
Thank you to all who have helped by sharing your knowledge. It made it pretty easy to hit the ground running. It still takes a little time to learn the 70 and I learn more each time I take it out. Keeping track of numbers and how they respond, sounds and going back and forth between C&R and prospecting modes when checking signals makes target id much easier. I love being able to outline an object with the prospect mode before digging. The 70 is probably the easiest to learn and use of the sophisticated machines on the market. Minelab made it pretty easy for us. They designed a detector that does everything and does a darn good job of doing it. There may be better single purpose detectors out there, but I don't believe that there is a better multi purpose detector than the 70.
I hope you have a understanding wife because she is not going to see too much of you unless she goes along.

Dear Diary.
Elton emailed me and said he already received the M6 I sent. He told me he left some good feedback too. When I read it I could tell he was crying with tears of joy as he typed it.
Meanwhile my X70 is still a thousands and thousand's of miles away from me. Oh well......guess I can spend some time with the family this weekend. Watch some movies. Wash
the cars. Re-roof the house.

Dear diary.
Getting so deperate to post finds on the forum. I can't handle this being without a detector for soooo long. I need to prove to these guys on the forum that I'm not just a fly by night nerd.
From what i been reading the xterra 70 is a awsome machine. Pretty soon I'll be posting all sorts of cool finds. Silver. gold and nugges the sixe of footballs!
Unless the detector doesn't arrive on Tuesday. Then they'll have to wait till next week.
 
Awesome doesn't even begin to describe the X-Terra 70. The only problem you will have once you get it is work and other responsibilities getting in the way of your detecting time :rage:. I hope you get it this week.

it's 7:15am. It has been for 10 minutes already. Minelab is due today. I have nothing planned so i'll just wait for that old UPS truck to arrive.
HURRY UP UPS TRUCK!!!!!
 
I live in a little town that is one square mile, my UPS guy is great, and usually delivers at about 5pm, but there have been times when I am off and have done the hard search for the UPS truck to get my goodies early.

2:00 pm and still no detector. I'm getting a little upset now.
Cleaned the bathroom. Leveled the ground around the backyard pond,( why did my wife make me build that stupid thing?)
Swept the front porch and back patio.
Should have went to work today!!!

Dear Diary,
I have only taken out the X70 once since I received it. I was going to go detecting this morning but my wife decided I had to begin work for our backyard waterfall. Now I'm pretty pooped.
The one time i did take it out I did find a silver necklace. She pinpoints right on the dime. No pun intended.
I have a pic posted on the forum. Subject is something like Xterras maiden voyage.......I spelled 'maiden' wrong.
Here's the pic in case you wanna see it.
