Dear Charles and Vaughn Garrett

I' am really enjoying my AT pro detector. It does what it claims to do and has made hunting faster and more fun. I am digging less trash and more coins. At this point, I see myself using the AT for a
long while.

If I was on your design team here's what I'd suggest to be improved for the next series of the AT Pro detector. These suggestions are my OPINION have little to do with the detection of metal objects by the AT Pro. It is more about ergonomics:

1. The headphone jack should be at the end of the arm cuff. The current placement is uncomfortable due to the length of the headphone cable supplied with the AT. I purchased the headphone adaptor and, so far, it works fine. I am using a set of KORG headphones that are really comfortable and the cable is now out of the way. When I am digging I am not pulling the detector over due to the shortness of the headphone cable. OR maybe wireless headphones?
2. The shaft wiggle is an issue for me. I purchased a device that eliminates this from a separate dealer. Solved the problem... Could a differen't cam lock set-up be included to stop the wiggle?
3. I don't have a Garrett Gizmo, but the guys that have them seem to like them. This is a device that places the arm-rest farther up the arm for better balance.
4. Could we get another 4-5" on the coil cable? I like to have the detector shaft opened up as far as possible... personal preference.

Thanks you for you consideration into these suggestions.

I also like a longer detector shaft. But did notice the coil cable doesn't reach the control box when the shaft is moved out to the last few holes. Doesn't make much sense to have a detector shaft that extends longer then the cable.

I agree on the coil cable issue. If you need to extend the shaft that far (like I do), then the extra length in the coil cable is a must. Seems like Garrett shouldn't have overlooked something so basic.

Yes, this is a real mystery. I had an interesting thing happen. I sent the coil and the box back to Garrett for repair. In the meantime I received the headphone adaptor. So.. I installed the adaptor under the grip and behind the cuff. I then opened up the rod to it's maximum length. When I got the coil and box back the coil cable length seemed to be correct. I was able to get several wraps around the rod and a the coil plug into the box. I don't know if I was doing something wrong in the first place of if Garrett sent a new coil with a longer cable.

I know I couldn't get the cable to reach the plug in the first place. Go figure.
