DD vs. Concentric in the heat?

marcomo

Well-known member
I remember reading in the past that a DD/Widescan coil cannot handle being in high temperatures as well as a concentric.

Assuming this is true, can Uncle Willy, John-Edmonton or any of the other knowledgeable people here elaborate on why?

I have never heard of that before. I can't figure out how the temperature would effect that at all. A sales pitch maybe?

DD's get better depth in higher mineralized soil comparatively speaking.

Somebody is spinning tales. I've field tested DD's and used them in 100 degree heat. They wouldn't be affected anymore than any other type of coil. Where did you read this fairy tale?
