DD pinpointing problems, Garrett AT Pro

Is it that you have never used a DD?
The ATP pin points I the hole in front of the Shaft connection. There are different ways to PP with a DD. The of the tip, off the heal and the + methods. I use the + or X marks the spot. In PP mode pass the coil over the target, stop when the indicator and tone are strongest. Move 90 degrees to one side and do the same. You draw an + with the coil and the target should be at the middle of the +.
There are targets that will cause this method to not work. Large targets, targets like pieces of long wire that has an odd shape and can be at one depth at one end and another at the other end. The most common is probably multiple targets close together.
It is best to practice with a coin on the surface. Good Luck.

Or....try raising the coil several inches above the target, and use the pinpoint button. When the center is reached, just set the coil directly below to maintain the center. Below is a video which gives a great technique.....
