DD High Freq. Question - HELP!!!

Alright, After reading several posts on this great website, I am thoroughly confused. I was told to by the DD High Freq coil for the location I live in. I live in Northern VA near the battlefields. Is this the right coil for me? I have no idea where to use the coils that I have. I do not mind digging up trash. Right now since I am new at this, any dig is a good dig. I am also heading to the beach, so will this coild be good there as well.

Both coils are great! Although you will cover more ground with the round coil if you have it. There are a few options you can use beach wise...........prospect mode on the beach works well for me and you will dig alot of targets (trash) but you get great depth. Check your manual for beach mode too! All metal is a safe bet on the beach if you want to find the gold and other bling. Having a coil with a high frequency will help in that dept for sure so you definitely have the weapon to do the damage. Just take your time swinging.
Cheers!

Sounds great, Thanks for the advise. I have the DD High Freq. coil. The round one. So, I should use the large round coil in prospect mode. Correct? Thanks again. Love this website.

Cheers

I myself use prospect mode on the beach and I find it effective however it is not a mode for everyone. I do dig alot of trash in this mode but I know by using prospect mode I hit every possible target within reach of the coil. You may need to turn the sensitivity down......................some beaches are worse then others when it comes to mineralization. A safe bet also is setting your 70 to the beach mode and using all metal search. You don't want to leave any gold behind................although you may dig a ton of pull tabs and bottle caps its worth it for that elusive diamond ring or gold bracelet
Cheers!

Thanks again for the help. I am new at this so I DO NOT mind digging up trash. It is good practice for me. As I learn more, I will be able to discriminate from the good and bad. I just wanted to know the best way to set up the detector to do some digging. I may dig a lot of trash, but eventrually I will find some good things. I am sure of it. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

Cheers
