DD coil depth...

What kind of depth can I expect from a DD 10.5 on the XT 70? I typically hunt farm fields and the targets are not usually over 8". I think the DD will be a nice coil for my style of detecting. HH and thanks in advance for any info, Mike

Hi Mike,

I don't have that coil, but have read good reports on the Minelab owner's website about it. Seems that many that get them don't take them off, and they are hunting the same kind of terrain as you. I plan on getting one at some point as I, personally, prefer DD coils as well.

Since the stock coils for the XT70 get pretty good depth you should have no problem getting that and perhaps more with the DD. I have one coming Christmas and will be switching between that and the 5 x 10 DD. I don't think the other coils will go back on my XT70. The DD really fits my style of hunting these days.

In my ground I get about 6-8 inches pretty easy. I'd say it may be an inch or so deeper than the stock, but it covers ground and runs pretty smooth. I just like DD's.
