Hello everyone i was wondering about which coil would be better for non- "modern" trash/woods/foundation sites im useing the Whites MXT tracker E-series metal detector with the concentric 950 coil and i would like a DD coil so i was wondering which one becouse there are many many different ones/Brands and i need too get great depth becouse in my area i have dug large cents at 12 inches. And my ground ussually reads high 60's into 70's but could jump into the 80's at times. So could i get some idea of what would work for my area and the kowdown on each coil you know of or use.Thank you for your time .sasquache

[size=large]i found my one and only ben half at 8" with my D2 DD coil. i have not heard of it getting much deeper. maybe 10". you're gunna have to go big DD to get the depth you're looking for. the 6x10 DD from whites is used quite a bit by relic hunter. i don't see it getting 12"+. well maybe if the target is large enough. there are some big SEF coils. don't hear much about them though. maybe go to kellyco site and see what coils they have for the MXT series.

I use the 10" DD for relic hunting. It's very deep and I would expect to find a large cent at 12". I have dug 10" and 12" targets a lot in a plowed field and a few larger targets deeper. It air tests even deeper but in real use it depends on the mineralization of the soil. I have not used, but air tested my buddies 10" X 12" SEF and it seemed deep too.
